Protect Your Card Balance from Phishing Scams
Phishing scammers purchase Google Search Ads designed to look exactly like the official Vanilla Prepaid or Joker Card balance check pages. When users enter their card details on these fake sites, the scammers instantly drain the funds.
- Never click Google Sponsored Ads to check your card balance.
- Check the address bar: Make sure you are on the exact domain name (e.g. jokercard.ca or vanillaprepaid.com).
- Call the phone number: Use the official toll-free support line printed on the back of your physical card as the safest alternative.

Step-by-Step: How to Perform a Card Balance Check
Whether you hold a Vanilla Visa or a Joker Mastercard, the balance checking process remains highly consistent across networks. Follow this checklist to ensure you do not run into errors or compromise your card details:
Find the official URL on the back of the card
Every prepaid card has the verified website address printed at the bottom of the reverse side. Always check your physical card to confirm the exact web portal address.
Type the website URL directly
Avoid using search bars. Open a browser window, click the address bar, and type the URL (e.g. vanillaprepaid.com) manually, or use our verified link buttons which take you directly to the secure portal.
Input your card credentials
Enter the 16-digit card number, the card expiration date (MM/YY), and the 3-digit CVV code on the signature block. Official sites will never ask for your PIN, home address, or social security number to check a balance.
Why did my balance check fail?
If you receive an error message when querying your card balance, this is usually caused by:
- Input Error: Double check that you haven't mistyped a digit or swapped the month and year of expiration.
- Card Not Activated: If you recently purchased the card, the retail clerk may not have scanned it correctly at checkout. You will need to bring the card and your purchase receipt back to the retail merchant.
- Unsupported Browser: Some legacy gift card portals require modern web browsers with cookies and JavaScript enabled. Ensure your browser is fully updated.
